Weekly excursions

Every week in the summer and fall, we offer extra-special trips that take you beyond the planetarium and our dome-side telescope observing area.

These excursions allow those who want to go farther into our dark sky preserve the chance to see the darkest skies and brightest views of objects in space, a comfortable 10-minute trip outside the town of Jasper.

Want the ultimate dark sky experience in the Canadian Rockies?  We’ve got it for you!

Depending on when you’re in Jasper, you can choose from:

  • Wild Sky Wednesdays
  • Far-Out-Fridays
  • Sky Tram Saturdays (Sat in Sept / Fri & Sat in Oct)
  • Perseid Meteor Shower (August 10, 11, 12)

NOTE: All of our Telescope and Binocular Experiences are a learning opportunity with many outdoor activities that are not weather-dependent and weather-permitting views of the sky. While we DO NOT need the sky to be completely clear to use our telescopes and/or binocolars, we CAN NOT guarantee clear skies. We DO NOT provide refunds if skies are too cloudy to observe with our telescopes and/or binocolars, BUT can offer a “rain check” to re-book for another date if-desired.
